LEDBURY Town Reserves struck a Herefordshire Football League Division One title race blow by holding rivals Bromyard 3-3 in Bishop’s Frome.

With games running out, Ledbury are only three points behind leaders Bromyard with two fixtures in hand.

Prolific strikers Dan Herbert and Jamie Welch scored, along with defender Tom Watkins.

Dale Allen, Jack Muirhead and Steve Corbett were on target for Bromyard.

Meanwhile, Ledbury Colts finished their Division Three season on a high with a 4-1 win over basement boys Weston at New Street.

But the strugglers troubled stand-in home keeper James Dean on a number of occasions, scoring in the 22nd minute.

Striker Jamie Gladwin opened Ledbury’s account with a penalty seven minutes earlier and then struck home his second before the interval.

A goalkeeping error allowed Colts midfielder Dave Preece to walk the ball home minutes after Weston’s goal to quickly put Ledbury ahead again.

Richard Thick’s young fourth-placed side comfortably held off their visitors in the second period, before Gladwin sealed the deal by completing his hat-trick towards the end.

Belmont Wanderers went on to take second spot in the table on goal difference from Dore Valley behind champions Tupsley.
