BOSSES of a boutique hotel are to give new mums a surprise second delivery.
Marks Hotel managers have promised to give a specially-designed teddy bear to all newborn babies in Glasgow to celebrate its opening.
The hotel launches a week on Monday and bosses will drop off the gifts to every new arrival that day at the city's maternity units.
Proud parents will also be given a luxury overnight stay at the 103-room Bath Street venue named after millionaire owner Stuart Wilson's 16-month-old son Mark.
They can also enjoy a dinner prepared by a top chef in the adjoining One Ten Bar & Grill to celebrate their bundle of joy.
Staff will visit the Princess Royal Maternity Unit, Queen Mother's Hospital and the Southern General to ensure new arrivals are given a special bear from the Build-a-Bear Workshop in Buchanan Galleries.
The baby's gift comes with a personalised bear birth certificate and mums and dads will receive a voucher to book their complimentary stay at the hotel.
Graham Urquhart, operations director for Marks Hotel, said: "It's a very exciting time for us as we prepare to launch, and as the venue is named after a baby we thought it would be nice to share our birthday with other newborns across the city "We've told the local maternity units to expect a slightly unusual delivery on Monday, September 3, as we drop off the gifts - hopefully it will bring a smile to their faces too."
Mr Wilson, 36, a Renfrewshire-based property developer who also owns Braes Shopping Centre in Castlemilk, bought the hotel a year ago for £10million and spent more than £1m transforming it.
Formerly Bewley's Hotel, it was snapped up by Mr Wilson's Rossmark Hotel Group, a firm named after his sons Ross, 6, and Mark, and a subsidiary of Baronsgate Estates based in Bridge of Weir.
Last month Mr Wilson explained why he had chosen to name the hotel after Mark. He said: "The hotel will be a welcoming destination with a family-run feel."
