HANLEY Swan fell 5-2 at second-placed Whaddon United in Cheltenham Association League Division One after letting a two-goal lead slip.
The visitors started well and went ahead despite their keeper being forced into early action.
James Beale broke clear on the left and laid on a fine ball for Mark Wright to slot home.
Whaddon were rattled and Hanley took advantage as Wright lobbed the keeper.
But the hosts scored on the stroke of half-time and started the second period with more purpose, bagging an early equaliser.
The pitch became a quagmire and Whaddon coped with the conditions better.
They broke away to take the lead for the first time and were gifted a fourth goal by a defensive error.
Whaddon wrapped up the game late on with a fifth goal.
Hanley host Churchdown Panthers tomorrow (3pm).
