WELLAND romped to a 9-1 win at bottom side Shurdington Rovers Reserves in Cheltenham Association League Division Three.
Omar Elmougy gave them a 20th-minute lead when his 18-yarder was spilled into the net by the keeper.
Rovers levelled quickly but leaders Welland regained the advantage before half-time through Stacey Brimmell from James Lush’s pass.
Lush fired in after a parried shot from Brimmell, who then followed up to net when Elmougy’s drive was saved.
Sub Jamie Harding set up Brimmell for his hat-trick on 70 minutes and provided Dave Knapper with a sixth goal soon after.
With 10 minutes left, Knapper slotted in a pass from Paul Edwards, who was then fouled for a penalty which Stu Wilkes converted.
Wilkes added a ninth goal on 89 minutes, heading in Olly Lewis’ cross. Welland host Fintan tomorrow.
