FREE-scoring Malvern Town are aiming to continue their impressive run of form when they visit West Midlands League Premier Division leaders Gornal Athletic tomorrow (3pm).

Les Jones’ side have netted 14 goals in their last three games, including a 6-1 victory at Wellington Amateurs and last weekend’s 7-0 home thrashing of Black Country Rangers.

They also drew 1-1 at Shawbury United, meaning Malvern have taken four points from teams around them in the table.

But Jones reckons Gornal will be a tougher nut to crack on their own patch.

“Gornal is a tough place to go,” he said. “We are confident but not over-confident. Away from home against the top-of-the-table team, we just want to put on a good show and come away with a positive result.”

On the Rangers win, Jones added: “In an attacking sense it was our best performance of the season, but the draw at Shawbury was a great result as well.

“To beat any team by seven goals is good but to beat a potentially top-three side is great.”
