UNCERTAINTY continues to surround crisis club Hereford United after their Herefordshire FA Senior Cup final against Westfields was called off.

The Bulls were due to face their city rivals at Edgar Street on Tuesday, July 29, but the county FA have taken the decision to postpone.

Herefordshire Council have closed Edgar Street for matches due to safety concerns and the club are in the process of putting together a Company Voluntary Agreement to pay creditors.

An HFA statement said: “After consultation with the FA, police, Hereford United and Westfields, a decision has been made to postpone the HFA Senior Cup final.”

It is the fifth Bulls match that has been cancelled during pre-season following games against Cardiff City, Plymouth Argyle, Pegasus Juniors, Grays Athletic and the 1st Battalion Rifles.

But Hereford, who have appointed Jon Taylor and Neil Phelps as their management team, do have a friendly lined up at Eagley, near Bolton, tomorrow, a team who play in the West Lancashire League – the equivalent of West Midlands League Division Two.
