Eastnor next after fine comeback for Coleman

COLWALL entertained Goodwich in the third round of the National Village Knockout, looking to progress to the regional final and play themselves into a bit of form.

The Stowe Lane side lost two early wickets before Rory Jones and Tom Coleman built a useful partnership that took the homeside to 100-2.

Jones’ dismissal for 35 allowed the likes of Ben Wheeler (43) to come in and play aggressively as Colwall eventually tallied 220-8 off their 40 overs.

Coleman, returning to action after a broken finger, top-scored with 70.

Goodrich were always behind the run-rate and, despite frustrating the home side at times, never looked in a position to win the game.

They finished on 165-9 off their 40 overs, meaning that Colwall move on to face Eastnor in the regional final.
