Skipper unbeaten as Malvern skittled for 67

MALVERN travelled to Harvington for this Worcestershire League Division Three fixture and were thrashed by six wickets.

The visitors batted first and quickly lost the wicket of last week’s centurion Andrew Cullen, which set the pattern for the innings.

Malvern continued to lose wickets at regular intervals with nobody able to offer captain Anthony Arnold any support.

The skipper batted throughout the innings showing commendable spirit and technique carrying his bat for 37 not out, but Malvern were dismissed for a dismal 67 in only 21 overs.

Ashley Jones the only other Malvern batsman who made it into double figures.

Harvington made light work of their target reaching 69-4 in only 16 overs with Andrew Fisher topscoring with 34, while Andrew Croft was Malvern’s most successful bowler with 2-4
