BARNARDS Green Cricket Club's colts under 11s beat Rushwick by 11 runs in an eight-a-side pairs game.

Hosts Green scored 298 but lost seven wickets for a nett total of 263 while Rushwick scored 274-3 for 259.

First pair Lois Burgess (14) and Freddie Finch (6) gave Green a solid start, losing just one wicket.

Harry Drinkwater and Jade Hume struggled against accurate bowling and lost four wickets for 16 runs.

George McMillan and Henry Hardinges added 17 for the loss of two but final pair Sam Williams (6) and Henry Hawes (15) took the final score to 298 without further loss.

Rushwick’s innings was more circumspect and only L Tolley (22) could push the score along against tight bowling.
