RUSHWICK restricted Malvern B to 79-5 as they won by 27 runs for their first Worcestershire Cricket Board Indoor League Worcester Division Two victory of the season.

The villagers were bowled out for 106 as Malvern also pursued their maiden success.

Malvern struggled to 36 at halfway with Shaun Smith (17) trying to put bat to ball and Connor Walwyn (32) top scoring before falling to Matt Champion who took 3-18.

Rushwick’s openers Chris Davies and Richard Bull both made 33.

Malvern A (72 all out) lost to West Malvern (74-1) with more than four overs left.

Tom Fairclough (24) got out with Malvern on 54 in the eighth over.

In the final over Malvern lost four wickets while adding only three runs, leaving West little to do.

Ben Tanner (18) and Matt Penkoks (26 not out) opened as West triumphed.

Worcester Nomads B and Droitwich shared the spoils in Division One while Avoncroft (157-3) beat Barnards Green B (100-5) by 57 runs.

Green posted a ton for the second time as Calum Morris (22), Will Dovey (29) and Lewis Regan (18) made good contributions.

But the bowlers conceded 28 wides which enabled Tom Murray (37no), Dan Elliott (25no), Paul Athey (27no) and Jon Hunter (17) to put the game beyond their reach.
