LEADERS Dorridge lost by four wickets at the hands of Herefordshire's Brockhampton in Birmingham and District Cricket League Division One.

Dorridge were in early trouble at Brockhampton, slipping to 127-8 before Mark Swanick smacked 67 from 49 balls to steer the Warwickshire club to a respectable 202 all out in 53 overs.

Early on, Iftikhar Ahmad hit 43 to prevent the Dorridge innings from complete collapse as Worcestershire's Josh Tongue took 4-13 from 12 overs, which included seven maidens.

Senuran Muthusamy nipped in to take 3-43 then hit 46 as he and Tongue (51 not out) played prominent roles in both innings.

Smethwick’s seven-wicket success against Barnards Green helped them close on the leaders.

Although Josh Haynes scored 54, Green were dismissed for 129 at Smethwick with four wickets each for Sukhjit Singh (4-24) and Amitoze Singh (4-25).

Singh finished unbeaten on 58 from 43 balls as Smethwick increased the pressure on Dorridge.

Old Hill moved off the bottom of the table with an eight-wicket win at Bromsgrove, who are now looking at the teams beneath them in the table rather than those above them.

Worcestershire’s Alexei Kervezee smashed 107 from 95 balls in Bromsgrove’s total of 233-8 but Jimmy Howell (93 for 86 balls) and Monil Patel (96 from 67 balls) eased Old Hill much nearer safety with a quick-fire second wicket stand of 93.

Mid-table Bridgnorth beat Moseley by five wickets with Worcestershire’s Charlie Morris taking 4-30.
