STOURPORT Thirds posted a remarkable total of 459-0 in Division Five as Allan Moss hit an unbeaten 302 – the Worcestershire League’s first triple-centurion.

There were also meagre innings totals of 32, 34 and 35 and six games were conceded – the highest ever on a single day in the league.

Pershore’s batsmen seem to be limping towards the Division One title but their opening bowlers were too hot for Bromyard to handle as they easily defended a below-par total of 146.

Luke Dalley took 5-11 and Lee Wilks 5-19 as Bromyard sank nearer to Division Two after being all out for 32.

Pershore bagged a maximum 24-point haul to stay 45 points ahead of Droitwich, who recorded their lowest score of the season.

Droitwich were 64 all out in 37 overs in what looked a tired display in a 142-run defeat against Worcester Nomads.

Bewdley take over in third place and they also have both the top two to play in their last two matches. Rob Combes’ 88 not out steered Bewdley home against Burghill.

Colwall were out of sorts, losing by two wickets to Oldswinford.

Pedmore heaped more misery on Redditch, who now look almost doomed to accompany Bromyard to Division Two unless they can turn their season around quickly.

Only Cookley seem truly bound for Division One after they beat Stourport in Division Two, despite Kevin Renecke’s 95 – which passed his 1,000 runs for the season – and Bredon lost at Feckenham thanks to Jamie Griffiths’ 145 for the home side.

Cookley are 18 points in front of Bredon. Stourport are just 12 points in front of Dominies and 13 ahead of Coombs Wood, who have both kept in touch with tidy wins over Enville and Harborne respectively.

Evesham beat relegated Malvern and Wormelow went to Lye and returned victorious thanks to 6-36 from Elliott Williams.

Division Three leaders Himbleton squeezed past Calverley to stay seven points clear of Alvechurch, who had an easier win at Bartestree thanks to 9-32 from Christian Battelley. But Chaddesley slipped a little after another draw, this time with Rushwick.

Cleobury Mortimer beat Old Vigornians by eight runs. Kempsey have one hand on the Division Four trophy as they defeated Oldswinford. They had the O’Neil brothers to thank as Sam took 5-32 and scored 104 not out to add to Zak’s 70 not out.

Barnards Green remain in second place, beating Martley, thanks to 98 from Andy Wheeler and are eight clear of Bromsgrove, who had to be content with a tie at home to Hanley Castle for whom Rory Mathews made 95.

Astwood Bank clinched the Division Five title with a fine win over fourth-placed West Malvern by 90 runs, with Paul Boycott making 100 not out.

Stourport cracked 459-0 in just 40 overs against Enville thirds and it included 110 by Mark Gleeson and 302 from Moss.

Tenbury beat Barnt Green thanks to 6-36 from Zac Yarranton and Old Elizabethans beat Redditch.
