LEADERS Pershore recorded an eighth Worcestershire Cricket League Division One win in a row.

Hosts Bewdley had only lost twice previously this season but Pershore again proved unstoppable, romping home by 101 runs with an all-round performance.

The rest of the division were therefore unable to make any headway as Worcester Nomads beat bottom side Burghill and Tillington, while Droitwich won a home thriller against Hagley to leapfrog them back to third.

Colwall are sixth following a win at Redditch, which dropped the home side to ninth, and Bromyard made it four wins out of five games with Dinusha Fernando scoring 112 and jumping to the top of the division's leading run scorers.

Fernando was again well supported by Ashley Bullock (76) in a 214-run opening partnership, so the Herefordshire side continue to look upwardly mobile in seventh spot and may yet be able to make further progress in this year’s title race.

This time, they chased 327 from Pedmore, which included 126 scored by Dan Jones, to win with an over-and-a-half to spare.

The final match saw hosts Oldswinford beat Belbroughton by 17 runs in a high-scoring affair that included 104 by Owen Williams and 95 from Tom Blunt before Tom Oliver replied with 96 for the visitors.

In Division Two, leaders Bredon remained 15 points ahead of Cookley after they won at Harborne aided by 116 from Martin Hill.

Cookley won a high-scoring encounter with Enville, thanks to 98 from Paul Thomas, despite 92 struck by Greg Tomkins as Iain Roberts took 5-37 to aid the home side’s cause.

Stourport returned to third after Mike Pratt’s 108 enabled them to force a huge win at home to Lye.

Worcester Dominies lost at home to Evesham despite Steve Miles making 104, which was 60 per cent of their total of 173.

Feckenham are fifth following a big win at home to Wormelow and stand 48 points behind Bredon near the halfway stage.

The final match at Malvern saw a convincing win for Coombs Wood as Jared Daniels made 104 in a total of 391-7 before the hosts replied pluckily with 264-8.

Division Three has new leaders again after Alvechurch and Hopwood returned to form by beating Rushwick to go three points clear.

Himbleton lost at home to Chaddesley Corbett, who now stand fourth, one point behind Bartestree and Lugwardine, who won at Worcester's Old Vigornians.

Bottom two sides Claverley and Alveley both won to compress the bottom half of the table and Ross-on-Wye triumphed comfortably at Cleobury Mortimer.

Alveley's Will Rodenhurst scored 108 and Claverley's Asif Iqbal contributed 115.

Division Four table-toppers Kempsey maintained their 16-point lead after a straightforward win over Himley.

Barnards Green thirds won at bottom side Old Hill to stay two points ahead of Bromsgrove thirds, who won by just two runs in the last over at home to their Kidderminster Victoria counterparts.

Five Ways Old Edwardians opened up a 40-point lead in fifth spot after they won at Martley.

Pete Smith’s 106 steered Harvington to victory for only the second time this season, beating Oldswinford.

Hanley Castle and Upton had Rory Mathews' 113 to thank for victory at home to Halesowen thirds after his brother Todd took 6-21 to restrict the visitors.

Division Five leaders Astwood Bank thirds won comfortably at home to West Malvern, while second-placed Stourport thirds recorded a similarly clinical win at Enville.

The pair are now at least 21 points ahead of the rest.

Stourbridge thirds beat Hallow and Old Elizabethans thirds won their second match of the year, seeing off Redditch.
