MALVERN Town Wanderers won 2-0 at mid-table rivals Warndon Villages Coyotes in Mercian Festival Junior League Under 13s Division Two.

Despite having no substitutes available, Wanderers took control of the second period and Kane Bruton opened the scoring with a fine volley from the edge of the box.

Charlie Bijl rounded Warndon’s keeper to slot home the second goal for Town, whose player-ofthe- match was defender Elliot Preece.

• Newtown Sports Juniors gained revenge for a cup defeat by seeing off Nunnery Wood Lions 4-0 in Stourport Youth League Under 11s Division One.

The hosts took the lead in the opening minutes with a thunderbolt from Ben Bromage, while Matthew Brookes and Jamie Winslow defended solidly at the other end.

High-flying Newtown stretched away in the second period with goals from George Shelford, Josh Edwards and Bromage.

• Malvern Town Wanderers Swifts were unfortunate not to edge a competitive 2-2 draw at Bidford Juniors Pioneers in Ambassador Evesham League Under 12s Pool ‘B’.

Swifts were punished for a slow start by the opening goal but they levelled on 22 minutes when Elliot Street’s corner eventually rebounded off the keeper and into the net.

A brilliant solo goal by Jake Norris, with the move starting in his own half, put the fourthplaced visitors ahead for the first time but Pioneers equalised five minutes from the end.

• Ledbury Swifts Rovers fought back to beat Leominster Minors 5-2 and also moved up to second in the Herefordshire Junior League Under 13s HGTA Division table.

After going two goals down, Rovers rallied with Joseph Bullock reducing the deficit before half-time.

Ledbury dominated after the break, scoring through Daniel Gale, Ali Holder, Sam Branch and Joseph Cotton to ensure a three-point haul.
