MALVERN retained their lead in Worcester and District League Division One, drawing 2-2 with Worcester Bishops at Manor Park.

Geoffrey Herbert and John Knee drew in positional games but the others were both in the balance until the end of the session.

On board four, Tony Shaw sought to build up an attack with mobile rooks but Ray Collett held out. Brian Turner was two pawns down on board one but active pieces saw him to pull off a draw.
