MALVERN Town goalkeeper Lewis Skyers missed out on a medal as his England side finished fourth at the IBSA Blind World Championship.
Skyers played for England as the only sighted player in the team, but his side bowed out after a 5-1 defeat to Brazil in the semi-final.
England then went on to lose the third-fourth play-off 1-0 to China, played at thePoint4, The Royal College for the Blind in Hereford.
England manager Tony Larkin said: “We were unlucky not to finish up with a medal.
“We are a young side and finishing fourth in a World Cup is fantastic for everyone involved.”
Their previous matches at the tournament saw England beat Colombia 1-0, defeat Japan 2-0, beat South Korea 2-1 but lose 1-0 against Spain in their opening encounter.
