Tenbury United 3, Malvern Rangers 3.

AFTER Malvern Rangers had beaten Tenbury 3-0 four days before, the points were shared in this return West Midlands (Regional) League Division Two fixture.

With action at both ends of the field, it took 43 minutes for Rangers to go behind and this came as Jamie Thomas pushed Lee Millichip in the back.

When the referee then pointed to the spot, Ian Williams fired home.

Things went from bad to worse a minute later as Rangers defence parted allowing Millichip to burst through from half-way and he planted the ball past Steve Newman.

There was still time to pull one back before the break as Ollie Endacott picked out Dave Reynolds at the far post and he headed home.

After the break Newman pulled off a save before the ball was moved upfield into Tenbury’s box where a defender upended Lee Hooper.

Ed Lyons took the penalty and his tame effort was saved by keeper Alex Wright.

On 63 minutes Rob Cullen drove the ball into a crowded box and, as the ball fell to Hooper, he took a quick touch before side-footing home.

Joe Endacott got caught in possession some 30 yards out and gave away a free-kick.

The ball was crossed into the box and Wesley Burleigh headed home.

With the game now well into injury-time, Cullen’s long throw was headed home by Hooper.
