VFC Keyz 2, Blackpole 0.
AFTER the previous week’s victory over Powick ‘B’, VFC entertained Worcester & District League Division Four leaders Blackpole Sports at Sling Lane.
For the hosts, Ryan Mears returned in goal with Dave Reynolds coming in for Dave Jeynes on the right-hand side of midfield and Andy Lancett replacing brother, Nick, up front.
VFC edged the first-half, limiting their opposition to only a couple of half chances and also going close themselves. Reynolds’ dangerous free-kick eluded Alex Peck and Lancett.
VFC believed they could get something out of this game and entered the half-time break in good spirits as the game was finely balanced at 0-0.
Reynolds was brought down by the Blackpole keeper as he broke into the box.
He dusted himself down before firing a confident penalty into the top right-hand corner to give the hosts the lead.
Then, Reynolds again broke from midfield and scored his second.
