POWICK FC 3, CALLOW END 3.

CALLOW End started this game well despite being without regular key players in Shaun Castle and Steve Wynfield.

Callow End went ahead on ten minutes when a defence-splitting pass by skipper Adam Spencer saw in-form Sam Black outpace the last defender and finish well one-on-one with the Powick keeper.

The visitors then seemed to sit back on this lead and paid the price when Callow End’s weakness at set pieces saw Stuart Harvey finish a neat headed goal for the hosts Powick on 21 minutes.

Callow End went 2-1 down after 30 minutes when Sam Charles’ rash challenge on man of the match Bryan Craven resulted in a penalty that Craven converted confidently.

Callow End levelled on the hour mark when John Greenwood pushed up front to support Sam Black and he scored an unstoppable dipping looping half-volley that lifted Callow End but then they were undone when Sam Charles again clattered Bryan Craven who again converted confidently from the spot.

Callow End’s best player on the day Shaun Chadwick made a fantastic last ditch challenge to deny Powick going 4-2 ahead and when Luan Gashi was fouled in the area with five minutes to go, it was down to Akilu Gawa to grab a point for Callow End when he converted a penalty under pressure.

Callow End did miss some good chances but this became a midfield battle in the second-half as the game ended even.
