MALVERN TOWN RESERVES 0, BLACKHEATH TOWN 0.

THESE two sides were evenly matched from start to finish and this resulted in yet another drawn match for Town Reserves. Blackheath opened the brighter of the two sides and Malvern’s defence did well to negate the early attacks. Having weathered the early storm, this young Malvern side grew in confidence and ended the first 45 minutes in the ascendence. The best opportunity came when youth player Mason Mansfield and Joe Kings combined to see the latter shoot across the box.

Both Dave Reynolds and Dave Lawrence had opportunities to fire home the rebounds but frantic defence by the visitors saw the ball cleared.

The second-half was similar to the first and Malvern had keeper Nial Hacking to thank when he dived full-length to turn Luke Reynolds’ shot around the post. Late on in the game a quality passing move involving Rob Cullen, Reynolds and Mason saw the ball played to Matt Ireson and his shot was cleared by Nigel Penny.
