WORCESTERSHIRE Rapids fell down to third in the Vitality Blast North Group table after Durham Jets overtook them with a seven-wicket success.

England's Ben Stokes put on a show with bat and ball to guide Jets to a dominant victory at Emirates Riverside for their third win in a row.

The all-rounder claimed 4-16 from four overs and then opened the innings to blast 43 off 24 deliveries with Graham Clark adding 55.

Rapids suffered a second successive defeat after being bowled out for 121.

Jets won the toss and elected to bowl with Rapids skipper Moeen Ali hitting the second ball of the innings to the boundary over point.

But James Weighell responded to dismiss Moeen (4) with the next ball.

Martin Guptill (7) struggled to get the ball off the square and fell victim to a Stokes delivery that kept low.

But Travis Head's form at the crease allowed his side to post 40 from their opening six overs.

Nathan Rimmington turned the momentum in favour of Durham by removing Daryl Mitchell (17).

Head continued his knock although his strike rate did not get away from the home side.

The Australian fell for 40 as he was undone by a straight delivery from Imran Tahir, sparking a collapse in the Rapids innings.

Stokes returned to have both Ross Whiteley (1) and Ben Cox (17) caught on the boundary, while Tahir notched his second strike of the innings by removing Ed Barnard (5).

Luke Wood (7) continued the procession of wickets, drilling straight to Liam Trevaskis in the deep.

Stokes ensured Rapids were held in check as he claimed his fourth scalp by bowling Dillon Pennington for a two-ball duck.

A fine piece of fielding ended the innings for 121 as Rimmington ran out Patrick Brown (0) with a flick out of the back of his hand.

Clark and Stokes got Jets off to a flying start in their chase, finding the boundary with regularity to put them comfortably ahead of the required rate.

The duo reached their 50 partnership at the end of the fifth over.

Stokes dispatched Moeen over long-on for a huge six but his England team-mate had a semblance of revenge as Guptill took a catch on the fence from the following delivery, ending the opening partnership at 77.

Clark continued to put Rapids to the sword after the loss of Stokes, reaching his 50 off 35 balls including seven boundaries and a six.

The opener fell to Brown (2-23) before Jets could close out the victory as Trevaskis (10 not out) hit the winning runs.

Moeen said: "I've just said to the boys that we had a bad day at the office. We've played some good cricket but these things happen in T20.

"You come across Stokes, he's played really well. You get put into bat in conditions that are not easy.

"We had a decent start then we obviously lost our way with the bat and didn't have enough runs. They played really well. We've just got to get back on our form.

"We had the worst of the conditions and the pitch. I think had we bowled first it would have been difficult for them as well because you're not sure what's a good score.

"They know their home conditions similar to what people do when they come to Worcester. Credit to them they played.

"Stokes was good, he bowled well and batted very well. It's always great to see an England player do that.

"I'm glad if anyone was going to score runs and take wickets against us it was him."
