MALVERN Triathlon Club’s Jayne Ackroyd was first super vet lady with a personal best at Hereford Duathlon.

Clive Brooks undertook his first marathon in Manchester in five hours 20 minutes following a training programme around Malvern running roads in alphabetical order.

The same day seven club members performed well alongside 126 others at Hereford Duathlon.

Ackroyd did 1.52.36 in the 4.6-mile run, 17-mile bike and 2.2-mile run.

Chris Grubb was sixth man out of 97 in 1.32.45 followed by John Bryant (1.49.15), Wesley Ogden (1.52.46), Stephen Dick (1.54.08), Andrew Rickard (2.00.19) and Caroline Finch (2.29.55).

Pam Gualter raced in the sprint duathlon taking second super vet lady in 1.57.06.

Go Tri is a series of skill sessions concluding with an event.

They are designed to teach basic swimming, cycling and running skills for novices keen to have a go at a triathlon.

The sessions in Malvern start on May 5 from 5.30pm until 6.30pm and seven are held at Malvern Splash every Saturday before the event on Saturday, June 23.

Participants need to be 11 plus and it is open to individuals and families.
