NATHAN VAUGHAN 6

Might have done better with the goal but was alert, made good decisions and gave his colleagues an option to pass back whenever required in difficult conditions.

GEORGE FORSYTH 7

Not the easiest of afternoons for the backline. Dealt with most things well, caught out once or twice but generally recovered to cut out the danger himself and added something to the attacking play.

JAMIE SMITH 6

Solid enough in trying circumstances without adding as much as he usually does going forward.

JORDAN STODDART 7

Strong presence at the heart of the backline. Did what needed to be done when the chips were down and almost grabbed a winner.

MARK SMITH 6

Solid and calm as always, complemented Stoddart well.

NATHAN HAYWARD 7

Robust and linked the play well. Defied the conditions to take on brave passes but it came close to costing City on occasion.

STAR MAN – MAT BIRLEY 8

Stood head and shoulders above anyone on the pitch. The only bug bear was perhaps his finishing after his own magic had started moves or got himself into shooting positions. Oozed class and energy.

BRAD BIRCH 7

Another who might have celebrated a winner more than once but kept getting into positions to score and added the usual drive in City’s engine room.

JAMES BALDWIN 5

Worked hard but lacked a cutting edge. His approach play undoubtedly helped his team-mates but City need more sting in the 18-yard box.

DAVE REYNOLDS 6

Cut a frustrated figure at times, gave away the odd silly foul and perhaps could have taken a different option in good positions. That said, went very close to scoring more than once.

ALEX TOMKINSON 7

Provided a cracking finish despite the offside flag and secured the penalty that restored parity. Allowing frustration to build over the odd stray pass was the only down side to his game.
