TOM Hall completed his first triathlon as he tackled the open water Avenger Triathlon at Ragley Hall in Warwickshire.

The Malvern Triathlon Club member, who could only swim 50 metres in January, undertook a 1,300m swim, a 46k undulating bike ride crossing the Worcestershire and Warwickshire borders and a 10k grass run.

His time of two hours 57 minutes and 39 seconds also saw him finish fourth in his age group.

Maria Dineen delivered a personal best to help her team complete the Forest of Dean Triathlon at Mallards Pike.

She did the 750m open water section in an impressive 9.43 to set her team on their way as Jonathan Sage finished the bike in 40.22 and Wayne Gualter the run in 25.57.

Vikki Joy Sivertsen undertook her first triathlon in three years when she competed in the Cotswold ladies only sprint triathlon alongside 149 entrants.

After overcoming the 750m swim leg, she then blasted her way through the 20k bike leg, gaining 61 places before doing the 5k run for home.

Sivertsen’s time of 1.13.01 saw her finish in second in her age group.

Gulab Chauhan was among 1,200 competitors to compete in the Swansea Triathlon raising funds and awareness for Sightsavers in memory of a family member who lost their sight to meningitis as a child.

This sea swim event was Chauhan’s first and he did the 750m dash in the Prince of Wales dock in 12.20.

He then overcame the 20k bike leg in 36.46 before securing a personal best time in the 5k run, finishing in 25.11.

Elsewhere, Janice Wallace took part in the one-mile sea swim in the Grand Cayman and David Dutton tackled the 95-mile Welsh Dragon Bike Ride.
