WORCESTER bowled Droitwich out for just 54 inside 22 overs as they started the Worcestershire Cricket League Division One season with an eight-wicket thrashing.

Only two Spa players got into double figures as Mohammad Adeel (4-22) and Andy Hill (4-25) ripped into the batting.

Worcester then got home easily in 12 overs for the loss of two wickets.

Bewdley enjoyed a maximum-point win against Burghill, Tillington and Weobley with Rob Combes scoring 111 and Jack Mills 5-27.

Redditch beat the returning Eastnor, who were relegated from the Birmingham League, Stourport defeated last season’s runners-up Colwall and Cookley won at newly-promoted Feckenham.

The other match at Pedmore was a winning draw for Hagley as Eral Anderson made an undefeated 177 and Michael Stead 80.

In Division Two Chaddesley Corbett’s Bilal Hassan made 97 as his side posted too many for promoted Old Vigornians.

Coombs Wood were too powerful for relegated Belbroughton and Evesham recorded an efficient win over Enville.

Bredon defeated Lye thanks to an undefeated 86 from Martin Hill and Oldswinford’s first match since relegation ended with a narrow two-wicket win over Bromyard.

There was a draw at Wormelow where the hosts' Elliott Williams scored an undefeated 106 and took three wickets but the final Harborne pair just held on at the end.

Himbleton got their Division Three campaign off to a flying start by winning at Malvern thanks to 6-22 from Jamie Alford.

Kempsey maintained their bid for success with a big win at home to Martley with Chris Jones making 130 and Sam O’Neill 128 not out.

Adam Baker followed those scores up with 7-51 to steer his side to a 165-run victory.

Netherton recorded a straightforward win at home to Bartestree and Lugwardine.

Himley’s Euan Wentworth and Adam Passmore both made undefeated scores in the 90s to steer them home chasing 258 made by Five Ways Old Edwardians and Rushwick saw off Avoncroft.

The one draw was at Alvechurch and Hopwood where Matt Hayward contributed 95 to go with Ed Rodgers’ 87 which proved too many for Astwood Bank to chase as they held out for a draw.

In Division Four Bromsgrove, Claverley, Hanley Castle and Upton, Old Elizabethans, West Malvern and Halesowen all recorded opening-day wins against Stourport, Hallow, Tenbury, Worcester, Alveley and Kidderminster respectively.

Bromsgrove's Mark Smith took 6-18, Tony Hutchings 6-20 for Hanley, Dave Harris recorded a hat-trick in his 5-13 for OEs and Chris Whittenbury 6-53 for Hallow.
