HEREFORD FC manager Pete Beadle has questioned whether his players have stopped enjoying winning games.

The Bulls have been unstoppable this season, losing only one of their league matches.

Their latest victory was a 2-0 success against Swindon Supermarine last Saturday, which came on the back of successive draws.

But Beadle felt his players did not enjoy the win as much as they should have done.

“After the game it was very quiet,” said Beadle.

“But you have to enjoy winning, because if you start to get on the opposite side, it can be horrible.

“They’ve got to enjoy it because what they’ve achieved has been outstanding.”

Some supporters felt the atmosphere was ‘flat’ at times during last Saturday’s game.

“As players and staff, we want it to be raucous every week and for them to sing throughout the game, but you don’t even get that in the Premier League,” said Beadle. “Last year was a novelty and, but this year they’ve stuck by us and have enjoyed the type of football we’ve been playing.

“I thought they were great on Saturday and we gave them plenty to shout about.”

Should Hereford achieve promotion to the Southern League Premier, Beadle knows there will again be huge expectation among supporters.

“The expectation from the staff and myself is that whatever league we are in, we want to be challenging for promotion,” he said. “However, the expectation from the fans is a little bit different because they expect us to win every week.

“That is why I don’t want players coming who just want to pick up the money. I want my players to enjoy a challenge, want to improve as players and to develop their careers.”
