The lower order were run out, leaving Young (55) and John (33) to add 34 crucial runs in the last three overs before they departed too.

Nomads’ Ollie Ranscombe (12) was run out early on as they fell to 46-3 at halfway.

Phil Thomas restricted Nomads before Guy Davies retired in the 10th over but then returned swiftly after another run out.

Nomads were too far behind as Davies got 37 not out and Sean Butler 22no.

Royal Grammar School Worcester (131-2) lost to Cutnall Green (132-4) with three balls left.

Despite the pace of Williams and Reading, Matt Harris and Neil Evans reached 55 after four overs.

Wickets brought Harris back alongside Derek Higgins and 44 were shipped in three overs with 10 wides helping Green home.

In Division Two, Malvern (87 all out) lost to Hallow (88-3) with three overs left.

Hallow’s Jeremy Hodgson and Connor Murphy bowled well though Lewis Hill (10) and Anthony Arnold (19) did well until they were bowled and run out respectively.

Malvern were helped by 41 extras, including 35 wides, before Hallow’s unhurried reply kept up with the rate.

Paul Wyatt (25no) and Murphy (19no) wrapped up the win with overs to spare.

Last season’s Division Two winners Nomads C (131-5) beat Worcester Seniors (100-3) by 31 runs.
