FORMER Hereford FC goalkeeper Harvey Rivers feels he didn’t deserve to be dropped by Bulls manager Pete Beadle.

Rivers was an ever-present in the Hereford side last season before Beadle brought in Martin Horsell in December.

Rivers soon joined Swindon Supermarine on a dual registration deal in order to get more games before eventually leaving Hereford in the summer.

The keeper started this season with Southern Premier League side Cirencester Town, but left last month to join Yate Town.

The Bluebells face the Bulls tomorrow looking to end their unbeaten run.

“I’ve made no secret that I didn’t think I deserved to be dropped and I told Pete Beadle that at the time, but he is the manager and I respect his decision,” said Rivers, who is still expected to play in tomorrow's game at Edgar Street despite losing a tooth during Yates's match at Winchester on Wednesday.

“What I will say is that it was a really positive experience and I really enjoyed it there.

“Personally, I would have loved to have kept my place, but that’s football and it can be cruel at times.

"But I cannot wait to get back there and I’m looking forward to seeing some friends and the fans because they were always decent to me.”

Rivers added that playing in a higher league with Cirencester helped his development.

“I enjoyed it there and I felt the team was getting better and starting to pick up results,” said Rivers.

“But for whatever reason, the manager felt that a change was needed.

“It’s refreshing being at Yate though and I’m enjoying my football again.

“The manager and his staff are starting to build a good young squad and I’ve no doubt we will start climbing the table in a few weeks.”

Following tomorrow's game, Hereford have a 10-day break before facing Bishops Cleeve in a sold-out match on December 27.

The Bulls then host Evesham United on January 2 in their first game of 2017.
