BARNARDS Green were denied in the ECB National Club Twenty20 northern area final.
The Malvern cricket club beat Checkley by 47 runs in the semis but then fell short against Stockport outfit Bramhall after being dismissed for just 72.
Green missed out on the national finals day after travelling to Menai Bridge, Anglesey, north Wales, for the regional contest.
They beat North Staffs and South Cheshire League side Checkley after amassing 190-7 in their 20 overs.
Skipper and opener Phil Harris blasted 90 from 58 balls with 11 fours and three sixes before their opponents were restricted to 143-8.
Green then kept Bramhall, who had beaten the hosts, down to 125-9 in the northern final with Worcestershire’s Alex Hepburn taking 3-17.
But they collapsed to a 53-run loss in reply with Jon Dovey (23 not out) rallying late on.
In Birmingham League Division One, Green slipped to fourth from bottom with a seven-wicket loss at Moseley.
Openers Will Dovey (36) and Josh Haynes (37) provided the few bright points in their 123 all out.
Moseley motored home within 25 overs, losing just three wickets.
Green host leaders Brockhampton on Saturday (noon).
