MARTLEY 16-year-old Tom Everard returned to the ring in style with a victory.
More than 12 months since his controversial British title fight, he met Sammi Jones in a three-round, full-contact amateur kickboxing bout in Weston-super-Mare.
Both fighters went at it with flurries of powerful combinations from the start.
The bout was heading the way of the more powerful Everard, representing Leigh Sinton-based Malvern Martial Arts, after two rounds.
The start of the third saw Jones make an all-out assault, forcing his opponent back against the ropes.
But 20 seconds later Everard delivered an upper cut and a big overhead right, leaving Jones on the canvas.
Now Everard, coached by Julian Burton, has done his exams at Chantry High School, he is looking to return to semi-professional level by spring 2016 and is in need of sponsors.
