MALVERN Town under-21s drew 3-3 at Powick Rangers in a West Midlands League Division Two derby after coming back from 3-0 down.

Scott Finnegan came close for Powick before they went ahead when a corner to the near post was misjudged by full-back Chris Watling and the ball squeezed between him and the post.

Malvern, unbeaten in four league games, hit the post through Gareth Jones before half-time.

The second half saw conditions worsen and Powick went 2-0 up when a corner was flicked on by Stuart Harvey for Jon Murphy to head in from close range.

Ricky Buckland finished well past keeper Toby Wilcox to make it 3-0.

However, with 15 minutes left, Town sub Sam Hayes had a quick impact and his cross was poked home by James Fulton.

The impressive Jones finished well 10 minutes later from Ash Campbell’s pass.

Malvern deservedly equalised in the last minute when Dene Whittal-Williams got on the end of a Hayes cross.
