n Warriors under 15s and under 16s proved too hot to handle against Northampton Saints at Franklin’s Gardens.

The under 15s ran out winners by nine tries to one, while the under 16s triumphed by 10 tries to one against the Saints.

Warriors coach Dan Lyne said: “It was a cracking afternoon for both teams who played magnificent rugby.

“The under 15s, led well by captain Oliver Heeks, defended superbly and showed great endeavour in attack scoring some fine team tries.

“The under 16s started off slowly but soon found their rhythm as the backs and forwards combined well throughout the afternoon in what was another promising performance.”

The under 16s head to Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in Wakefield tomorrow for the Northern Academies Festival where they face Leicester Tigers, Sale Sharks and Yorkshire Carnegie.

Lyne added: “We’re really pleased with how the boys have committed themselves over pre-season.”
