NEW Malvern Victoria club captain Malcolm Smith has provided good leadership in their friendly fixtures.

Victoria have won four matches, including a resounding 115-80 success over Oldington, and lost six.

Most games have been close with Victoria winning 104-96 at Kingsland, 110-93 against Tewkesbury and 87-83 over Littleton.

However, Victoria lost heavily to Gilt Edge 101-71, to Pershore 83-52 and to Ledbury 103-71.

Closer defeats were 91-86 to Worcester, 95-90 to Malvern Priory and 100-87 to St Andrews Tourists.

The exciting contests, won or lost by the odd few points, have added spice to the Victoria Park club’s campaign and sharpened their players’ desire to win.

The ladies won 66-52 at Ross-on-Wye after triumphing on two rinks and losing on two.

Victoria are keen to embed Friday club nights into their calendar.

Prospective new members are welcome and they run from 6.30pm with the chance for a match, chat and supper.
