MISTY conditions greeted the early arrivals for the annual ladies’ open at Bransford.

But a trio from Malvern Wells club The Worcestershire proved they were the ones who could see clearly.

The low-lying mist caused the start to be delayed but, once the sun broke through, the field of 75 found the weather and course to their liking.

The winners with 80 points were Jen Bishop, June Jones and Pauline Belsham from The Worcestershire.

They were four ahead of Pamela Sherwood, Susan Boskett and Denise Ellis from Sherdons near Tewkesbury.

Dymock Grange’s Judy Davies, Nicky Perrins and Jenny Poole were a further three back on 73.

Twenty clubs were represented in the three-ball alliance with the best two scores counting.

Ladbrook Park’s Judy Turner won the prize for the longest drive by a visitor with Anne Hamilton recording the best for the host club.

Sapey’s Carol Moore was nearest the pin for visitors on the 15th and Jodie Bennett for members on the 13th.
