THE running season gained momentum for Malvern Joggers members training for spring marathons.

Julie Caseley travelled to Solihull for the Centurion Grand Prix five-mile race.

The fifth contest out of six saw Caseley clock 40 minutes 33 seconds in strong winds.

Mike Anstey continued his good form ahead of the London Marathon by setting 53.49 in the Almeley 10-kilometre race with Lynda Broadway finishing in 56.40.

In the Coventry half-marathon, Tom Barter did one hour 46 minutes 53 seconds and Kay Parry 2.32.36.

Suzie Lane achieved a personal best of 1.47.40 at Newport half-marathon as did Jenny Davies in 2.15.57.

Paul Webb tackled tough conditions to do the Anglesey half-marathon in 1.52.30.

n Hannah Tapley, representing Worcester Athletic Club, was joint fifth in the under 17s girls’ high jump final at the England Indoor Age Group Championships.

The Malvern St James Girls’ School pupil jumped 1.64 metres in Sheffield.
