WORCESTER Warriors full-back Chris Pennell has today been named in the England Saxons squad to play against Ireland Wolfhounds on Friday, January. 30.

Pennell endured a tough start to this season due to injury but has since bounced back to full fitness, earning himself a recall to the England set-up following his international debut last summer against the All Blacks at Eden Park.

Pennell enjoyed a milestone year during 2014, grabbing his first England try against the Crusaders in Christchurch.

He was also nominated for the Aviva Premiership Player of the Season award after playing every minute of every match in the last campaign.

Pennell will join up with his Saxons teammates on January 26 at the Lensbury Club before flying to Cork.

Former Warriors Matt Kvesic (Gloucester) and Matt Mullan (Wasps) have also been named in the England Saxons squad.
