Meanwhile, the inter-club seniors winter league is beginning to boil up nicely.

Three of the four competing clubs are separated by a mere two points after two of the four rounds of competition.

The league’s second leg, which involved Bransford, Burlish Park, Wharton Park and Little Lakes, was held at the latter club in Bewdley.

Just as Bransford had done in the first round, the hosts made home advantage count.

Forty-eight players — 12 from each club — took part in pairs four-ball matches with a maximum of 12 points available to each of the teams.

Lakes took the honours with 10 points followed by Wharton Park (8), Bransford (4) and Burlish Park (2).

Wharton Park and Lakes now lead the way after two rounds with 15 points ahead of Bransford (13) and Burlish Park (5).
