MALVERN’S Andy Wintle finished eighth after stepping up into the Thundersport GB Championship.
The motorbike racer was joint-third in the East Midland Racing Association Pre-Injection Championship last year over six rounds at Mallory Park.
He moved up to the Thundersport Golden Era Supersport class over nine rounds.
Wintle raced at Brands Hatch, Donington Park, Snetterton, Cadwell Park, Oulton Park and Rockingham for the first time.
He said: “My goal was to finish the season inside the top 10.
“With an engine failure at Oulton Park, a double points round, and not having enough funds to race at Anglesey, I was happy to finally finish eighth in the championship out of 34.
“Now I’ve seen the circuits and gained significantly more experience, I’m hoping to again compete in the Thundersport series.
“I want to achieve a top five in the championship and bring some silverware home throughout the 2015 season.
“I thank Cherry Hall and Hallmark Electra for their support over the past year, along with the No Guts No Glory race team for their trackside help.”
