DARTS ace Terry Jenkins had mixed fortunes at the two-day StanJames.com Players Championship played last weekend in Gibralter.
Ledbury-based Jenkins crashed out of the Saturday event in the opening round, losing 3-1 to Matt Clark, who was defeated in the fourth round by Ronnie Baxter.
On Sunday, Jenkins showed a lot more of his current form, finally losing in the quarter-finals to the tournament winner Stoke's Andy Hamilton.
World sixth-ranked Jenkins breezed through his opening round with a 3-0 win against Simon Craven, and saw off Darren Johnson 3-2 in the second round.
A 3-1 victory over Alex Roy took The Bull' into the last eight where he met Hamilton and bowed out 3-0.
Hamilton was at the top of his form and defeated Alan Warriner-Little 3-1 in the semi-final before defeating former world number one Colin Lloyd 3-1 in the final to collect the £5,000 first prize.
Jenkins makes his 14-week Holsten Premier Darts League debut on Thursday (February 1) when he plays Dennis Priestley at Plymouth Pavilions and a week later (February 8) at Wolverhampton Civic he meets Roland Scholten.
