BARNT Green clinched the Birmingham and District League Premier Division runners-up spot with an eight-wicket victory over Brockhampton.

The seventh-placed Herefordshire side were dismissed for 158 with Tom Burton claiming 3-18 and Simon Mugava 3-22.

In reply, an unbroken stand of 126 for the third wicket between Ed Pollock (70 not out) and Henry Mobberley (54no) secured the silverware for Green.

Champions West Bromwich Dartmouth wrapped up their season with a three-wicket victory over eighth-placed Kidderminster Victoria at Chester Road with one ball left.

Neil Pinner (71), Matt Pardoe (55) and Michael Hill (44) powered Kidderminster to 269-7 but Dartmouth recorded a nail-biting 13th win of the season.

Bromsgrove finished fourth and Barnards Green fifth in Division One.

Alex Kervezee (71) and Joe Dodd (71) saw Bromsgrove to 132-2 before an astonishing collapse saw them dismissed for 169.

Opponents Wellington, however, crashed to 135 all out with seamer Graeme Whiles taking 3-28.

Champions Ombersley won a thriller by four runs at Oswestry, who failed to score the nine needed for victory off the last two overs.

Oli Uffindall hit an unbeaten 89 in Ombersley’s 255-8 but Oswestry matched them all the way.

Alex Hepburn hit 78 and Andy Ford 40 as Barnards Green were dismissed for 217 by Old Hill, who crashed to 87 all out.

Hepburn (4-17) and George Rhodes (3-13) did the damage.

A classy 78 from Worcestershire’s Tom Fell guided Wolverhampton to a five-wicket win over Shifnal to regain their Premier Division place.

In Division Two, Penkridge completed a seasonal double over Eastnor but missed out on promotion.

They totalled 234 before Eastnor replied with 175 all out thanks mainly to a superb 92 from Atiq Ur Rehman.

Water Orton earned a three-wicket win over fifth-placed Worcester side Old Elizabethans but were relegated.

Johan Smit scored 42 in OEs’ total of 170, which was not enough.

Steve Adshead scored 113 as Astwood Bank piled up 271 against Streetly, who crumbled to 69 all out and failed to gain promotion.

Jon Summers took 4-24 for Bank, who finished in a respectable seventh place.
