A SECOND memorial football match will be held for prolific local sportsman Paul Ledbury at New Street on Sunday (1.30pm).

New Ledbury Town Reserves manager Phil Preedy has arranged the game after the inaugural fixture between the club’s first team and a group who played football with the late Ledbury proved a success.

Meanwhile, Town have two more pre-season fixtures before their West Midlands League Division One season begins a week tomorrow.

They host a Cheltenham Town XI tomorrow (3pm) and Herefordshire rivals Kington next Wednesday (7.45pm).

After a 6-2 victory over the Hereford United Supporters’ Trust team earlier last week, Ledbury drew 3-3 with Gloucestershire FA Veterans League side Quedgeley Wanderers.

The opposing team consisted of former Ledbury players Scott Roberts and Joel Skyers.

New keeper James Loader saved well but was beaten by a Skyers header only for Jason Kennedy to level soon after.

Joe Bates put Ledbury ahead in the 41st minute but Wanderers struck twice quickly to regain the lead. Asten Griffiths netted the final goal in the 84th minute to ensure a draw.
