BOSBURY cemented their position at the top of Marches Cricket League Division Four with an 18-point winning draw at Wormelow thirds.

The visitors won the toss and elected to bat first on what looked a good track but two quick wickets left them on 11-2.

However, Simon Davies and opener Roy Bettington stabilised the innings with a partnership of 80 for the second wicket.

Bettington (44) fell to a sharp catch but George Abbey and Davies then punished any short bowling from the tiring bowlers.

Davies brought up his maiden ton for Bosbury with a four and Abbey completed his half-century before being bowled for 53 after a 135-run third-wicket partnership.

Davies finished unbeaten on 109 with Bosbury scoring 232-4 off their 40 overs.

In reply, opening bowlers Ben Febery (0-31) and Harry Evans (1-35) stifled the batsmen.

The change of pace of Alan Lancett (1-30) and Chris Stokes (2-16) helped wickets fall as Wormelow could only survive on 176-6.

Bosbury host Woolhope seconds on Saturday.
