ENGLAND Under 19 batsman Ed Barnard is set to make his first appearance of the summer for Worcestershire in the four-day Second XI friendly with Warwickshire at Barnt Green starting today.
Barnard, who was part of the Under 19 squad during the winter World Cup, has been tipped as a potential future captain of the side by team boss John Abrahams.
The 18-year-old has been completing his education at Shrewsbury School before joining up with the County on a summer contract.
He will then take up a full contract for the 2015 campaign along with England Under 19 team-mate Joe Clarke who will keep wicket against Warwickshire.
Matt Pardoe, Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Ross Whiteley, who played in the LV = Championship win over Leicestershire last week, are part of the squad along with NatWest T20 Blast duo Richard Oliver and Brett D’Oliveira.
