LEDBURY Town Football Club will go into the next campaign with new joint managers after the appointment of Pete Boyle and Zac Blood.

The West Midlands League Division One club will be led by last season’s captain and regular first teamer Boyle and former Pershore Town midfielder Blood.

Ledbury failed to shine consistently in 2013-14 after promotion from Division Two and finished fourth-from-bottom in the table.

Manager Paul Mann resigned in May as did the Herefordshire League Division One reserve side’s boss Karl Lancett.

Phil Preedy, who jointly managed the first team with Chris Powell before Mann took charge near the start of last season, will look after the second string with former club physio Roly Welch as coach.

Ledbury are hoping for bright times ahead and they hold their annual meeting on Sunday at the New Street club at 8pm.

A new committee will be selected along with a date for the club’s presentation evening.

Everyone is welcome to attend, whether they are members or not.

Three pre-season friendlies have been confirmed for Town, including the visit of neighbours Hereford United.

The Bulls will head to Ledbury on Saturday, July 5, followed by Worcester Midland Combination outfit Perrywood on Saturday, July 12, and Fairfield Villa on Saturday, July 19.

Ledbury also have another league derby to look forward to next season with relegated Bromyard Town joining Bartestree and Hereford Lads Club in the division.

Meanwhile, there are a string of events coming up for the club with some still to be confirmed.

They are holding a members’ night on Saturday, June 21, from 7.30pm featuring reduced price drinks along with a disco, karaoke and raffle.

Ledbury have open trials on the same day from noon until 3pm with games being held for potential players who wish to play for the club next season.

Meanwhile, the family fun day planned for Sunday, June 29, in support of the Help Harry Help Others charity has had to be cancelled.

n The New Street football club will host the finals night of this season’s Ledbury Town and District Darts League on Saturday, June 28, from 6pm, which will include trophy presentations and food.
