LEDBURY Swimming Club maintained their high standards at the Worcester County Championships.

The club managed three championship silver medals and two bronzes overall plus 25 age group golds, 26 silvers and 24 bronzes.

Ledbury clocked 24 regional qualifying times and 167 personal bests.

For their second weekend visit to Wolverhampton, 10 girls set pbs and finished top 10 in the 50-metre freestyle.

Molly Schofield, nine, Lottie Trevethan, 11, and Charlotte Hall, 12, finished fourth.

The 200m backstroke saw nine Ledbury boys swim pbs with top 10 places for William Kennedy, 11, Brynmor Batten, 12, Malachi Cashmore, 11, and Sebastian Roffey, 12.

Matthew Thomas, 12, beat his pb for a bronze medal, Tom Harris, 17, also claimed bronze with a Midland qualifying time and silvers went to Kai Gooden-Morris, 12, and Elliot Heath, 13.

Heath achieved pbs in all his seven events, including gold in the 400m freestyle.

He added 100m and 50m freestyle golds and silvers in the 50m breaststroke and 200m individual medley, finishing top of his age group with three regional times.

James Casewell, 10, won golds in the 50m freestyle, 50m breaststroke, 100m freestyle and 400m freestyle, which also saw him break the county record.

He has qualified for seven regional events and topped his age group for the county.

His sister Hannah, 17, secured the 400m freestyle gold.

Emily Russell, nine, recorded a 30-second pb in the 200m backstroke and was fourth.

Dan Kearley, also nine, scooped gold in the 400m freestyle and fourth in the 50m.

Max Rice claimed bronze in the 50m breaststroke and silver in the 400m freestyle behind Kearley.

Siblings Tom and Lucy Stokes returned from university in the open category.

Lucy, 19, won 400m individual medley gold, silvers in the 200m individual medley, 200m and 50m breaststroke, 200m and 100m butterfly and bronze in the 100m breaststroke.

Tom, 21, claimed 200m and 100m breaststroke bronzes, while Alex Middleton, 16, won gold in the 50m freestyle.

Sam Hall, 13, claimed 200m butterfly gold, 100m breaststroke silver and bronzes in the 50m breaststroke and 200m individual medley.

Charlotte Hall, 12, gained a 100m freestyle regional time.

Calypso Harvey, 16, claimed championship silver and an age group 100m breaststroke bronze. Daisy Wood, 10, added a 200m butterfly silver.

On the last weekend, Heath won 13 years 1,500m freestyle gold with a regional time.

In the 800m freestyle, Lauren Freestone won 12 years gold with Eleanor James and Lily Wood in the top 10.

For the boys, Fynn Lewis-Gale claimed gold and Roffey silver, while Harris managed overall and open age bronze.
