THERE were two major shocks in the quarter-finals of the McDonald's Worcester and District Football League's Bernard Finnegan Cup.

Sport Dysons caused another upset with a single strike from Kyle Stimson giving them victory over higher-graded Talbot.

Previously unbeaten Division Four leaders Pillar of Salt Korono crashed out 2-1 after extra-time at the hands of lower-graded Five Fathers.

It was a good weekend for Arrow 2000 as they made progress in two of the league’s cup competitions.

On Sunday, they reached the semi-finals of the Katherine Rayer Cup with a 5-2 win against Kempsey with goals from Lee Seldon, Chris Doyle, Carl Smith, Brett Morris and Tom Coley.

In the Saturday Baylis Cup round-robin matches, they won 4-3 at the University of Worcester courtesy of goals from Wayne Lloyd (2), Steve Jefferies and Andy Jeffries.

Elsewhere in the Katherine Rayer Cup, WCT Raiders won 4-2 at Malvern Radar with Alex Baird and Martin Newman both bagging braces.

They will play Perrywood in the semi-finals after they saw off Heenans 3-1.

Hangover also reached the last four after Kevin Ginger cracked a hat-trick in their 4-2 victory at Inter Express.

Whitehall are also through to the last four, Louis Baker scoring twice in their 3-2 win at Droitwich RBL.

In Sunday League Division One, Hallow Village drew 2-2 with Worcester Lynx, a game which saw Ben Hodgkins return three years after suffering a serious knee injury. He marked his comeback with one of his side’s goals.

Meanwhile, leaders The Bell @ Pensax beat Powick 3-0 with Damon Groves notching a double.

Division Three leaders Brewers Athletic hammered Falcons 7-3 with Ben Harbourne firing a treble scoring a hat-trick and Simone Lock a bracedouble.

Martin Williams and Dave Murray both scored twice as GDL Athletic thrashed Cutnall Green 7-2, while Graham Jones cracked a hat-trick as Foresters Arms shared six goals with Worcester City Wanderers.

Tom Hobbs bagged two as Metro consolidated second place with a 4-0 win over Colwall Village.

In Division Five, Gavin Wood grabbed a hat-trick for Droitwich Spa Eagles 'A' in their 5-3 victory over The Bell @ Pensax Reserves.

The Worcester League has no remaining interest in Worcestershire FA Cup competitions after their last two representatives both crashed out.

WCT Raiders lost 4-1 to Knowle Reserves in the Saturday Minor Cup semi-finals and Drakes Broughton Rangers went down 3-0 at Lionfields in the Sunday Minor Cup.
