UPTON’S Barbara Gibson competed in the USA International Seniors Tournament in Miami Lakes, Florida and bagged a personal record number of medals at one competition.
The member of Malvern Hills and West Mercia Badminton Clubs was among more than 100 competitors taking part from various countries, including the USA, Canada, Peru, Jamaica, Denmark, Russia and India.
Gibson contested the singles and women’s and mixed doubles across two different age groups, playing 20 matches over five days.
There was success in the ladies’ singles where she won one gold medal and one silver.
In the ladies doubles, in which she played with women from the USA and Canada, Gibson picked up a silver and a bronze.
In the mixed doubles partnering a Canadian, she won another bronze.
It was Gibson’s largest ever haul of medals at one tournament.
