WORCESTER Wolves are launching a new community basketball club in Malvern.

The sessions will be at Dyson Perrins Academy, Yates Hay Road, on Mondays from 4pm until 5pm for 14 to 19 year olds.

It is part of Wolves’ plans to resurrect the sport in the community across Worcestershire and Herefordshire through IM Basketball and six satellite clubs. Wolves are offering providers school visits from their players, ticket deals and opportunities for participants and leaders to gain basketball qualifications and awards.

Worcester community basketball development officer Chris Cox said: “The six Wolves-affiliated school satellite clubs will provide community members and students with weekly, coached basketball sessions.

“Four will be reserved exclusively for students aged between 14 and 19 years of age.

“They will be hosted at Hereford Sixth Form College, Pershore High School, Hanley Castle High School and Dyson Perrins Academy, Malvern.”
