DIRECTOR of football Geoff Woodward wants more local lads to join West Midlands Football League Premier Division side Bromyard Town.

Woodward says the club are picking up players from Worcestershire but need more support from Herefordshire talent.

Thirteenth-placed Bromyard enjoyed a fine August, winning five successive league matches, but have struggled since.

“I am trying to build something but Bromyard seems a difficult place to get people to commit to,” Woodward said.

“It’s in the middle of nowhere and most of our lads are coming from Kidderminster and Worcester.

If we could get some more local lads, it would make life a bit easier.

“We started off really well and I am glad we got some points on the board.”

He added: “After the start, we had been hoping to get into the top 10.”
