Kai stars in pool as Ledbury hit form

LEDBURY Swimming Club had a great start to the new season with their junior and novice members putting sterling performances.
New club member Kai Gooden-Morris, 12, who was starting his first full season for the club, gained six county qualifying times and three placings inside the top 10.
Eleanor Ainsworth and Eric Harris, both 13, gained two county qualifying times and two top 10 placings each, while Caitlin Wild also gained two county times and a well-deserved silver medal in the 50-metre freestyle.
Daisy Wood, Freddie McGhee, Harry Bloxham and William Kennedy all posted their first county times of the season and they will join Tom Birley, Molly Schofield and Robyn Munday, who will be representing the club at the County Championships for the first time next year.
McGhee, 10, won a bronze medal in the 200m breast stroke, while fellow 10-yearold Elenydd Batten did likewise in the 100m breast stroke.
Robert Wilson, 10, swam a one-second personal best (PB) to gain a hard-fought silver medal in the 50m breaststroke and William Kennedy, also 10, swam consistently on his personal best and gained a bronze medal.
Talesha Hunt, 12, made a superb start to her season, gaining two county qualifying times and four top 10 placings, including a bronze for the 50m breaststroke.
There was also success for junior club captain Bradley Williams, 14, Alice Russell, 10, and Daisy Kearley, 11.
